Jamie Chu (Company Contact Lead)

Before diving into the world of localization at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies, Jamie studied Economics at UCLA and East Asian Languages and Civilizations (emphasis on Chinese language and history) at the University of Pennsylvania. After completing post-graduate Chinese language study at Tsinghua University, she decided to use her background in business and appreciation for art to develop products for a Beijing-based manufacturing company, as well as organize international exhibitions at the Asian Art Museum in San Francisco. She also holds a localization certificate through the University of Washington.

In May 2020, Jamie started her program management internship at Salesforce, where she assisted in the localization of Core Salesforce products and will continue to work throughout the semester. In addition to being a founding member of CampLoc in 2019, she is also a founding member of the first student chapter of Women in Localization (WL MIIS).

CampLoc enables students to learn the ins-and-outs of how localization is run at different companies by providing them the opportunity to connect with professionals in an educational and supportive environment. Through CampLoc, students can strengthen their understanding of the variety of localization roles open to them, giving them the necessary context to help them find their localization calling.
