Autumn Smith

Autumn Smith (Operations Lead)

An Alumna of Wittenberg University Class of 2015’, Autumn studied East Asian Studies and Japanese Studies graduating with a double major. Her language pair is Japanese to English and she has been certified as N1 in the Japanese Language Proficiency Test. She has worked in a variety of fields including hospitality, education, community management, and app localization. At MIIS, Autumn is involved in several organizations including being a founding member of CampLoc, a founding member of the first student chapter of Women in Localization (WL MIIS), and is currently acting as the TLM Student ambassador. In addition to this, Autumn also had the opportunity to work as a Localization Program Management intern at Facebook in the summer of 2020. CampLoc is an opportunity for students to build up their understanding of the localization field from people working in the field in real-time. They can speak directly to their colleagues in localization and immerse themselves in that environment for a week-long conference. Through this conference they not only strengthen their connection to and understanding of the industry, but also will be able to envision themselves in these spaces giving them additional confidence as they prepare to set off into the world.
